PRESS RELEASE - Public reminded of fraudulent email purportedly issued by Companies Registry
The Companies Registry today (June 28) alerted members of the public to a fraudulent email purportedly issued by the Registry from the email account "email@example.com". The email requests the recipient to go through an attached document and give suggestion on the issues as stated on the document by clicking a hyper link. The hyper link and attached document may contain computer virus.
The Registry has no connection with the fraudulent email and has reported the case to the Police for further investigation. Members of the public are reminded not to open any suspicious emails.
A full scale electronic filing service covering 84 specified forms are now available!
With effect from today, you may deliver specified forms and related documents required for registration under the Companies Ordinance (Chapter 622 of the Laws of Hong Kong) and the Companies (Winding Up and Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance (Chapter 32 of the Laws of Hong Kong) to the Registrar of Companies in electronic form at this portal round the clock daily. This covers annual returns for all local companies and registered non-Hong Kong companies.
The e-Form Filler is an applet necessary for editing offline the e-forms which you have downloaded from the e-Registry. The whole download and installation process may take a few minutes. Following successful completion of the installation, the e-Form Filler will start automatically.
29 June 2016 System Enhancement Work
The Companies Registry has scheduled system enhancement work from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 3 July 2016 (Sunday) (Hong Kong time).
There will be intermittent interruptions of access to the websites of the GovHK Online Payment Service and relevant financial institution during the period. You are advised NOT to pay the fees at this website by using VISA / Master Card or PPS on the Internet to avoid your requests for payable service not being processed successfully.
Users can continue to pay the required fees by deducting from their deposit account (if any).
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
27 June 2016 User Login and Document Signing by Digital Certificate in HK Identity Card or Security Token
From now on, Individual Users of e-Registry who have registered their personal digital certificates in their user accounts can login the e-Registry and sign specified forms or related documents by using the digital certificates stored in their Hong Kong Identity Cards or security tokens or PKCS#12 files.
Other than the above new function, Individual Users may continue to login the e-Registry and sign e-forms or related documents with their user names and passwords.

A new version of e-Form Filler has been released. Please download the new version to facilitate offline editing, signing and submission of electronic forms and documents.
31 March 2016 Waiver of Business Registration Fees for Companies 2016-17
The prescribed business registration fee payable in respect of an application for company incorporation and business registration made in the period from 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017 will be reduced by a sum of HK$2,000.
The prescribed business registration fee payable in respect of a non-Hong Kong company that commences business between 1 April 2016 and 31 March 2017 will be reduced by a sum of HK$2,000.

31 July 2015 Delivery of Annual Returns under the Companies Ordinance
The Companies Registry has issued an External Circular No. 2/2015 to remind companies, in particular, public companies and companies limited by guarantee of the requirements under section 662 of the new Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622 of the Laws of Hong Kong) in delivering annual returns.
